Overview: I have been writing songs for over a decade, both as a solo artist and with bands along the way. I have worked hard to craft a sound that is distinct yet approachable. I draw on a wide variety of influences and try to put them all to work in our arrangements. As a kid, my dad always encouraged me to listen to "music that mattered" - so I grew up listening to Dylan, Cash, Springsteen, Paul Simon, John Fogerty, etc. As a result, I've always tried to write songs that have a message, that address the realities of life in a way that's engaging without turning preachy. My music is country at its heart, but I've always loved rock n roll, and I'm not afraid to turn the guitars up and let the drummer loose. My band and I like to leave a dent wherever we go. I like music that makes you feel something, and that's what we try to do.
