The Black Market Club first began as four devoted musicians drawn to each others talents from three different regions of Texas, to where they currently reside in San Antonio.
The initial group-comprised solely of instrumentalists Zach Taylor, Austin Busbee, Xavier Zavala, and Andrew Bauer worked for months without a vocalist. They took advantageof that time to explore, and develop their sound.
However, as the group continued to grow more comfortable in their instrumental environment, so did their desire reach out and include a singer.
After many months of pursuing a vocalist unsuccessfully, The Black Market Club managed to uncover a diamond in the rough- Blake Cook. With this final addition, the 5-piece has been able to take their sound to new heights- incorporating elements of post-rock, progressive, post-hardcore, and indie rock, with influences ranging from Circa Survive, Explosions in the Sky, Thrice, Two Door Cinema Club, Minus the Bear, and more.
