Overview: In music, trends may come and go, but New Jersey-based trio Axis of Time is not in the business of dropping beats that are here today and gone tomorrow. The group, which writes, produces and rhymes, creates music for the future and the present, with its unique fusion of hip-hop and electronic-laden beats. Axis of Time is made up of three distinct producers—MoBeats, MoHits (Monique Walker) Naturel (Jerel Walker), and D. Strange (Jamar Walker) each bringing something different, yet dynamic to the lab—resulting in a synergy that still fits. MoBeats, MoHits, a skilled beatmaker, gives you mo’ hits. Like her persona, there is also a dichotomy to her sound. On one track the sound can be light and airy, as if the listener is floating on a natural high. Naturel is the jokester of the group, bringing lots of witty wordplay to tracks. D. Strange brings raw energy to the group, with twisted beats and rhymes. Declaring himself, the “Madman,” his beats are psychedelic and pulsating.
