Overview: Even though Tonya was born and raised in a small town in upstate NY, she had big dreams of singing and performing outside the realms of her hometown. At the young age of 4, Tonya started singing in a full gospel church. Music was ever present in her home as well. Country and Christian genres enveloped her four walls daily. Tonya was self taught in piano at the age of 14, and also plays clarinet and guitar. 'There isn't any limit to one's accomplishments if they have the will', she says. After realizing that music was one of her main goals, Tonya joined a band in 2008. There, she sang lead vocals, and covered artists such as Pat Benatar, Cindy Lauper, and even Sugarland. Her voice defies the boundaries and limitations of many genres, and she truly sings from the soul. In 2009, Tonya lost her husband to suicide, and was suddenly a single mom with struggles, but also an artist with a dream.
