Overview: Sassy & The Pocketbook have just dropped their debut single 'Slumber' from the highly anticipated upcoming album 'Quest for the Pocket', due to be released this NZ Summer. 'Slumber' has a bouncy reggae feel with lazy horns over a tight beat, featuring the sultry vocals of Sassy aka Bex Nabouta. Her lyrics are woven around an emotional delivery that burns into the memorable chorus and outro that'll make you wana shake it! Sassy & The Pocketbook officially burst on to the scene with their debut single October 2011, but this line-up has been brewing since early 2010, during a residency held at Grand Central Bar in Ponsonby, Auckland where they developed a unique sound and locked groove, and 'Sassy & The Pocketbook' was born. The Pocketbook are a neosoul band with a focus on 'pocket' grooves whether playing covers or the soulful original songs written by the band's lead vocalist Bex Nabouta (aka Sassy). Currently recording their debut album 'Quest for the Pocket', due out soon.
