ABOUT GINAS PICTURE SHOW:
Ginas Picture Show cook up familiar throw back melodies from the 1920's to the 1960's covered in sincere lyrics and served with a wild variety of instrumentation.
To put it simply, Ginas Picture Show is the bees knees. With Gina Cimmelli at the helm, the band is a mash-up of well sought after musicians, all groomed from Bostons notorious Berklee College of Music.
The auditory recipe goes something like this:
You start with a little Matt Weber, hailing from the mountain tops of western Pennsylvania, stirring up grooves on a set of tubs and tins. While comfortably cruising along with the tune, he will catch your ear with the occasional whack, swish, tap and even a little boom cha.
Next you add in a bit of California grown bassist Jeni Magana, coating each line she plays with splashes of her unique talent and wisdom, played effortlessly while sipping a glass of red wine. A rare fusion of greatness exploding from every drop of sound between the rhythm section.
From there, you mix in a dash of Mat Coser. Born and raised in Bean Town, he brings a quirky flavor into this fine masterpiece with the help of his rugged guitar tempers. Never forgetting his musical roots in the woodwind world, he graciously pours out romantic melodies on the old clarinet, a complimenting side dish to any meal.
For a bit of zest, we stir in the stimulating stylings of Stoddy Blackall on keys. Bred in Minnesota and aged in Boston, Stoddys wit-infused chords tickle your audio taste buds and your funny bone.
Finally, this epicurean delight is topped off with the sultry vocal styles of Brooklyn local, Gina Cimmelli. Matured in the heart of New Yorks finest borough, her organic harmonies and earnest lyrics hum with a deep sincerity beyond her years.
You wouldnt dream to find an eclectic gang of ingredients, but Ginas Picture Show seems to have all audiences roaring for seconds. One satisfied viewer wrote, Gina Cimmelli is worth listening to for all the right reasons;
she takes you places you can only travel with her and her band.
