Stephen B. Steward, the 9th of 12 children, was born and raised in Smithville, Mississippi. Stephen and his siblings received biblical teaching early in their childhood and began singing in the church choir. From elementary through high school, Stephen sang with worship groups, bands, and ministered to fellow athletes and peers. As the gift of writing and singing new songs of worship became evident during college, he realized this anointing was on his life. In 1983, he received his BA degree in Psychology from Mississippi College. He moved to California and began working for the Los Angeles County Probation Department as a Deputy Probation Officer. After marrying his wife, Onesha, in 1986, he accepted the call of ministry of music and served as worship leader for over 18 years at a local church in Lynwood, Ca. Although Stephen has written love ballets, the genre of his collection of more than 200 songs is Praise and Worship/Gospel. "Sing Alleluia" is his newly released worship single that celebrates the kingship and royalty of Jesus Christ. Stephen is working on completing a worship album by next Spring.
