Performing solo acoustically since 2007, Brent has performed in the local and national scene from small coffee shops and bars to large clubs and festivals.

Brent is formerly the lead saxophone player from the musical group "Nelson Flavor" whom became popular in 2007 in the Midwest funk rock scene playing festivals and clubs throughout, utilizing his degree in Music Performance (instrumental saxophone). Nelson Flavor recorded under a Minnesota recorded label, to remain undisclosed, that ended with a sour taste in their mouth, later to go completely independent.

"It was a eye opener to see the politics that record labels and promoters can truly care less about the artist and the rights to their music. The bottom-line and productivity in their eyes are the driving factors, your just their puppet. With today technology, social media, networking, and accessibility, who needs a label?"

In 2011, the group decided to go on a hiatus, allowing Brent to concentrate on his singer-songwriter career.

"I never stopped writing songs or performing acoustically, it was hard to balance Nelson Flavor and finishing my music degree. Both had to be my concentration at the time. I loved the guys and the music we played."

Influenced by many acoustic styles, Brent credits his sound, ideas, and inspirations to acoustic acts such as Howie Day, Tim Reynolds (Dave Matthews Band), Dave Matthews, Jesse Lacey (Brand New), and Aaron Lewis (Staind).

"It would be hard to narrow down my sound to one genre because I am influenced by many styles of music from classic rock, modern rock, blues, reggae, and funk." says Brent. He goes on to say " for some reason, at the moment, I am into the idea of blending rock and acoustic, even if the booking agents, promoters, and selected venues think it does not go over well. I personally would love to go back in time and see Layne Staley and Alice in Chains unplugged live. Aaron Lewis of Staind sells out everywhere he goes and charges $100 a ticket when he plays solo acoustic? I just got to find the happy medium, if there is one. "

Brent is currently in the process of recording his debut EP " Too Alternative for Radio" to be released in the Fall of 2012.

"It has been difficult funding the project, but when it is all completed, it will be worth the wait. I am excited for the new songs. I am feeling confident in my sound live and recorded. With my style of looping my guitar, adding percussive tones, and leads, I like to think that makes the performance different with a bigger sound. I just don't want to end up like your typical "joe schmo" acoustic musician, vocals over rhythm acoustic. "
