Overview: David Lydon has an emotionally direct way of expressing himself, singing from the heart in short, uncomplicated sentences that speak volumes in emotion and meaning. His debut album "Hello Ugly Hello Friend” was made with an independent spirit, using whatever means were available to him at the time. He sings about the feelings of remorse and helplessness in the face of his own anger while simultaneously writing about those moments when we see through the clouds and glimpse what is really essential and true for us in our lives. David draws inspiration from the sea air and the beauty of the Northwest landscape, which he gets out in as much as possible. His music has received kind praise from the NME as "fragile, yearning jazz folk" as well as praise for the quality of his self-produced work.
