After years of helping hundreds of vocalists achieve their dreams, taking their talents to the next level as one of the music and television industry’s top vocal coaches, Jackie Arredondo is emerging from behind the scenes and launching her highly anticipated solo career as a Country music artist.
Jackie was raised in Florida and from a very young age, she started singing with different local bands. As a student of Music at Miami University, her teachers discovered her talent to teach others. This is when Jackie’s career took a turn and her dreams of becoming a recording artist were placed on hold to pursue a new career as a vocal coach. However, Jackie never stopped dreaming about Nashville, the Grand Ol Opry and Country music, the music that has been her passion since the age of 5. The music of Shania Twain, Faith Hill, Dolly Parton, Martina McBride, Carrie Underwood, Rascal Flatts and Keith Urban has been an integral part of her life and she counts their CDs among her most valuable possessions.
As a trained Quarter Horse, Arabian and Pasofino rider, she tries to find time in her busy schedule to ride as often as she can. For a brief time in her life, Jackie was an Interstate big-rig truck driver and that afforded her the opportunity to see much of the country from the road. During this period of her life, she met a wide variety of people with many different views and passions. One of her life goals is to tour throughout the world bringing her brand of Country music to fans everywhere. Ultimately, Jackie dreams of living the simple life on a small farm surrounded by animals and the horses she loves. “Having a special place one can consider their comfort zone is a valuable asset in life. It’s the place you go to re-connect with the true essence in your life, those important things that never let you forget who you are or where you came from no matter how much fame or fortune one can have”.
“I have always wanted to express to the world the journey of emotions that life has placed before me, the ups and downs of reality,” says Jackie. “Coming from a family of actors, I have always felt the need to transmit to others my expressive and emotional character, no matter how I feel. I love to sing, to live and express all the emotions and experiences that I feel, but above all, knowing I communicated those feelings to others. Like when I am happy, sad, in love and even sensual or inspirational, since life, in all its adventure, makes you feel all that. And that is what shows the other side of me. This is what I really love and what I always wanted to do in life.” she adds. “Working with such amazing producers and knowing how much they can bring to me as an artist and how much I could learn from them took a good amount of effort since all I wanted was to be guided.”
Considering Jackie’s lengthy and diverse background guiding the voice and careers of hundreds of singers, “letting go” and surrendering to the direction of others proved a unique challenge. “The Jackie Arredondo Singing Method” is an aggressive teaching technique she has developed over the years. Her school has trained, prepared and refined artists for Sony Music Latin, BMG, EMI Capitol, Universal Music Group and Warner Chappell, as well as industry moguls Emilio Estefan, Tommy Mottola and Sean “P-Diddy” Combs who hired her to work with the first Latin artist he signed to his Bad Boy Latino label. Jackie has also worked with Gloria Estefan, Brenda K. Starr, Julio Iglesias, Jr., Son by 4, and Rick Wake (producer for Celine Dion, Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston).
“Someone once asked me if I have learned as much from my students as they have learned from me,” she says, “and my reply was that I have learned more! Now I have the privilege to learn even more from the wonderful writers and producers in Country music who challenge me to be the best singer I can be. They are helping me fulfill my lifelong dream of being an artist in the wonderful world of Country music. With its rich tradition of lyrics and melodies, Country music allows me to express the feelings and sensations that I want to convey to music fans. It’s wonderful to have the chance to share this side of me with the world after working behind the scenes for so long.”
