Overview: Music has always played a vital role in the life of Jamie “JayMay” Mayberry. Growing up in Detroit, Michigan he was heavily influenced by the “hip hop” scene, from Run D.M.C. to Tupac Shakur this form of music has helped to shape how he presents the message of life that impacts him. Music tells stories of struggle, stories of rejoicing, stories of joy and stories of pain. The story JayMay tells is a story of redemption, a story of how God sovereignly moved in his life in 2001. It was then that he submitted his life to Jesus Christ. With that change, came a change in lifestyle. The sinner was saved and redeemed and vowed to live a life that displayed a relationship with Christ at the forefront. He began to write after a friend asked him to come up with a verse for a song he was working on. With that verse JayMay began to create music that would not only glorify God but would also edify and encourage believers.
