Jerry Cherry, better known by his artist name J-Royce was born in Riverdale, Georgia. From an early age he had taken a fondness to music and entertainment and knew he wanted a career dealing in one of the areas. It wasn't until high school when he began to take rap seriously, writing down rhymes during class and spitting freestyles whenever challenged. "Then it was just fun, now it's my life" he says "I can't go a day without writing music, it just wouldn't be normal for me." Contrary to alot of beliefs he says the most important part of a song is the lyrics and the message displayed and says he looks up to artists such as Nas, Eminem, Jay Z, T.I., Ludacris, Gucci Mane, The Game, Waka Flocka, Plies, Lil Wayne, Wale, and many others and tries to incorporate alittle of their work ethics along with his own unique style and lyricism in his music.
