Overview: "NeverWake" concentrates on songs that reside between Rock and Metal to bridge both genres. They combine memorable melodic vocals and gothic guitar harmonies over heavy distortion to achieve their style. They recorded their first demo at "Studio L" with producer Rick Witkowski of "Crack The Sky." Their goal is to be signed to a major record label. They are widely talented and capable of making music of any genre. NeverWake continues to develop their style by incorporating more complex riffs, heavier background vocal styles and dark orchestration while keeping their melodic lyricism.

A makeshift studio resides in the basement of a small town home as a couple of young musicians try to play their way to the top. NeverWake is a new up-and-coming band of young professionals born to rock. How do I know all of this? It's my basement, and it's my brother's band.
Based in the Tri-State area of Ohio, West Virginia, and Pennslyvania, NeverWake is breaking the scene with their new self-titled demo CD and playing at local gigs. Lead singer and guitarist Johnny DiCarlo says, "we've been working really hard on our music and trying to promote ourselves. We jumped from 56th to 18th on the ReverbNation Pittsburgh Rock Charts overnight and it's like, wow."
The band consists of lead singer and guitarist Johnny DiCarlo, back up vocals and guitarist James Watson, bassist George Scott and drummer Marcus Giannamore. "Things are moving pretty fast now that we finally got our bassist," says James.
The band has three CD projects lined up upon signing with a label, including themes and songs for each. Their genre resides between rock and metal, with an eerie Tim Burton-esque twist. "We've been inspired by a lot of things from our past, from playing Castlevania when we were little all the way until listening to any type of music now," says James.
Johnny and James are childhood friends and have been playing together for the past five years. They both have played guitar since they were around eight years old. They both are capable of playing drums, bass, and keyboard as well. Marcus and George have been involved with music their whole lives as well. Johnny has known both of them since his freshman year of high school.
Marcus joined the band his senior year after consulting with Johnny in a Music Theory Class, and George came in clutch to complete the band just a month ago. James and Johnny both agree on a story about Marcus's first encounter with one of their songs, "we literally played it one time for him, and he was able to play it back to us on the drums exactly the way we played it." Johnny continues, "I've always known that George was a good guitar player, and often dropped hints about possibly being our bass player, and he wasn't too interested. [So] he contacts me about a month ago saying 'hey...I'm thinking about picking up a bass', and I was like 'holy [fill in the blank]!!' we started practicing the day after," he goes on to say, "we all work really well together and every one has contributed their own ideas for songs, gigs, and our whole overall theme and band image."
