Overview: Great Dane was formed in October of 2009 at Purchase College in Westchester NY. Sean McVerry, pianist and lead singer went to the school for music composition. Bassist Stefano Guida and Drummer Brendon Caroselli greatly helped bring the music to life. Great Dane was the first band Stefano had ever played with, first hearing the Beatles in his sophomore year of high school. Brendon came to Purchase for Jazz studies coming from Rochester NY with a background in Reggae and African Hand drumming. The trio gigged around Purchase and Westchester for a few months before getting into the studio to make an E.P. During that recording session they added three dynamic horn players to the lineup. Andrew Russell on Trumpet, Andrew Cowie on Sax. Eric Holsten not only produced the E.P but also played Trombone on it. GD has established a strong following in Westchester county, and have expanded to the Lower East Side of NYC played at multiple venues. GD has developed into a unique genre of piano rock.
