JOEY HERD has been involved in music most of his life! For this young man the inspiration to do music & entertainment was most definitely, NOT passed down from immediate family members, or distant relatives. His talents have been most declared as “a gift from God.” He started singing at the age of 8 for family, friends, at school, and at church. At the tender age of 1...0 he told his parents that the music industry is where he belongs and that he was going after his greatest goal of becoming a successful Country Music Recording Artist. As he grew older, he got involved with the American Kids Organization. This is a nationwide organization that organizes talent and performance shows for young people throughout the United States. At the age of 12, Joey's professional career as an “entertainer” had began. In 1999, Joey was awarded, “Missouri Entertainer of the Year” by this same prestigious organization! Later that year, to bring in the New Millennium, Joey had the opportunity to sing with “The Osmonds” in a Grand Millennium Celebration Show on CBS. From 2000-2003, Joey continued his career training and development with the Robert Allen Music Company, a local music company out of Overland Park, Kansas. Through the years he would make appearances at Opry Houses in Kansas & Northern Missouri on Saturday nights. As an accomplished artist, Joey has appeared on Warner Brothers Television on a Talent Showcase Show called; “TV TALENT HOUR,” which aired from 2001-2002! This television program was planned to be the new rendition of the “Ed Sullivan Show,” which was a popular variety show that aired from 1948-1971. With the success of such programs as “American Idol” & other talent shows, the big networks decided not to carry “TV TALENT HOUR” any longer. During this same period, Joey had began to discover what the Night Club venue was about, doing music variety performances on selected dates. In 2003 he traveled the United States, doing Christian Concerts in a quartet group called; “4-N-1” that he had organized & managed. In that same year Joey appeared several times in concert, with the first female violinist of Country Music, JANA JAE. Since then, around his professional career, Joey remains to utilize his talents that the Lord has given him for His glory! 2004, Joey had become an A.S.C.A.P. licensed songwriter, writing New-Country, Contemporary Christian, and Contemporary-Southern Gospel Music! In that same year Joey began teaching performance vocal and musical theater classes at a performing arts school in Shawnee, Kansas called; “The Academy of the Arts.” In February of 2006, Joey was offered a part in Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede Show where he was one of the dancers as well as, one of two back up comedians for the show (2006-2009)! 2008, he changed hands with songwriting associations and became a licensed songwriter with BMI. As of June 2008, Joey was invited to sing & dance with the legendary Andy Williams & Ann-Margret for a summer-long show. In the fall of 2009 Joey had came out with his debut single; Freedom of Life for the “New-Country” charts, which is featured on over 350 different radio networks across America under their “New Country Artists Program.” TODAY, he continues to promote his debut single along with a complete catalog of songs as he continues to write & develop an even larger fan base.
