Overview: SOS is a soulful duo from Washington DC with plenty potential and a promising career. Their style is very versatile and it shows with the vast variety of songs they create. Their music is very lyrical and thoughtful with a slight southern swag that adds spice to their music. S.oS. have been compared to a lot of the greats such as Common, Drake, De La Soul, OutKast, Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco, Blu and many more. Nick B. and Nate G. both attended the Benjamin Banneker Academic High School in N.W. Washington DC, which is where they met and began to make music together at the age of 16. During high school they freestyled at lunch time every day until they started recording on a Dell laptop with the built-in microphone. In 2007 they started the rap group Young Ballaz which included Nate G., Nick B., and a couple of their high school friends. In 2007 the young rap group made their first official mixtape “YB Hot”. The mixtape featured different popular instrumentals laid with fresh young rhymes.
