Ponce De'Leioun is a rap artist that has inked and crafted several songs for various artist. He was named after a historical voyager named Juan Ponce De Leon, this voyager claims to have found the fountain of youth. Therefore, Ponce considers himself the fountain of youth to the hip-hop game. Ponce truly embodies the term “Hip Hop”. With his passionate tone, and creative lyrics, it is very clear that he is destined to be one of Hip Hop’s future stars. He was born in the area of Orange County Riverside, but raised in Los Angeles California, before moving to Wheeling West Virginia with a family that instilled the basic values of hard work in him. In addition to the values his military father would teach him. Growing up he always knew he was destined to be a great person Ponce says"I loved Drawing, I loved Baskte-ball, And I loved My Music, I would write lyrics in my classes in school…by the end of the day I would have about 5 songs”. At the age of 15 he started performing in various talent venues,(Freestyle Battles, River Front Shows, Festivals, Historical Leader Celebrations for M.L.K, Rosa Parks etc.)Ponce than began to create a buzz for himself within the Wheeling area. After a while Ponce later began recording several original songs. To date he has not released any mix-tapes, Underground albums, or promotional CD. But he plans on his first real Promo-tape to crop sometime in the early April of 2009.This Promo Tape Will Be Hosted By G-unit/Shadyville (Young Carvelli). Ponce says "I'm 18 soon to be 19, a college Fresh-man, and I'm Incredibly good at what i do, and so when my tape drops i will title it "Young & Gifted". I have not even dropped my own mix-tape yet and i have dj's from all over the world playing my music on there mix-tapes. Therefore, when my mix-tape drops i definateley plan on leaving my mark, and many more. Ponce then went on to become the nicest rapper in his neighbor-hood, making final rounds of Freestyle competitions,and featured on several mixtapes such as DJ Pimp(of France), DJ Ames(of The United Kingdom), DJ FlipCyide(of Texas), Dipset Euro Streets "Global Tactics"(of Germany), Dj Silence(of Europe) and Dj Gemstarr(of New York), and a mixtape hosted by UGK also known as Bun-B and Pimp-c record label(of Texas). Ponce has also been interviewed by Hip-Hop sites such as Legionofdope.com, and Rapsolution.com. His positive and optimistic outlook is what continues to fuel his drive “Persistence wears down resistance, so you have to always pursue your vision, and never waiver”. Ponce combines real life experiences, social commentary, and a witty sense of humor to provide the listener with a more in depth look at society. In 2008 Ponce moved on to joining a label called BittaSweet Records. Along with artist like Chance-E.D, Slick Watts, G-jax, and Major League Beats, the label seemed to be unstoppable. But each artist having different ideas and thoughts on how things are done led to ponce leaving the group, Ponce says " I've never had any help, everything i have i have on my own, I'm building and empire and I'm doing it by myself no matter how long it takes, so don't try to change the way i do things because you think your above me, because your really not" Ponce has produced and collaborated on several songs for various artist within the music industry, and continues to stretch the boundaries of conventional music. With his unique song writing abilities, and roster of talented photographers, videographers, web designers, and promoters,Ponce is definitely a future star on the rise.
