Overview: In summer 2006, native Swedish brothers Erik & Kent Widman formed Love in October, an indie rock duo founded on the sonic principality of pessimistic optimism. They announced their musical debut by releasing "Words of Sound" EP, 18 minutes of nonstop, fast-paced indie rock. Their debut full-length, Pontus, The Devil, And Me, followed in early 2008, charted #45 on CMJ, and received national acclaim in Spin, AP, Kerrang!, CMJ, Paste. In contrast to the EP, the album combines sweet pop melodies with dark undertones, proving that the band doesn't have to follow a beaten path of predictable songwriting. Word traveled fast and far about the band's live show where anything could happen. One moment Erik will be hanging from the rafters singing his lungs dry, the next 6'6" giant Kent will be launching a flying split off a speaker five feet into the air. In the past 2 years, LiO has released 3 music videos, performed live on JBTV in Chicago and Fearless TV in NY, played 9 music fests.
