Overview: File under: Party-rock, Stoner-pop, Wild-art-rock, but NEVER confuse Junebug Spade as this years new hipster version of local gods The Flaming Lips. Hailing from their shared hometown of Oklahoma City, some upcoming bands find it difficult to break free from the obvious musical association. Not a problem for Junebug Spade. With a bent toward the psychedelic and those beloved rock and indie bands of youth (Pixies, Velvet Underground, Rolling Stones), ringleader Peter Seay set out to record an album of wild rock and unexpected song structures. The band features some of Oklahomas most creative musicians, known more for their offbeat sensibilities than for their conventional indie aesthetic.
