Overview: Praeter Caelestis was formed in 2004 out of both a dissatisfaction of the quality of music being produced in America and a repugnance for the idiocy in the messages being presented to a superstitious and undereducated culture. The music is interwoven with the lyrics using the thematically based postmodern style of composition used in movie scores. Borrowing heavily from the romantic period, the music is both aggressive and atmospheric. Haunting female vocals compliment the harsh rasps of aggressive metal style vocals, while the orchestrated ensemble tempers the brutality of the drums and guitar. Part classical and part metal, Praeter Caelestis will take the listener on a journey far beyond the reaches of the imagination.
