Overview: Formed in 2006 in the planned community of beige houses and red tile roofs (irvine), the band derives its name from the ancient Hebrew and the Book of Genesis. Their music is inspired by the metal/thrash/hard rock bands of the 80's and 90's. The founding members bring unique perspectives and varied backgrounds to the band. Andrew Hicks (guitar player), ex-water polo player (is there any other sport in Orange County), graduate of UC Riverside and follower of sacred geometry; Max Whelihan (drummer) a philosophy major attending UC Irvine and frustrated neo-viking; and Mike Hess (vocals), an improvisational comedian (Live Nudes, UCI), psychology major who works with challenged children. Currently, James Massey, from "The Burning Arrows Band" is playing bass with Nephilim. The band is about to release their first album entitled "Tales Through the Raven's Eye"
