Overview: Touted as the "top unsigned college act in the country", Stella by Starlight hope to use what the press has deemed "unbelievable national support" among college listeners as well as the recent surge of coverage on MTV and MTVu to continue to expand their audience and once and for all do away with their 'college band' label. With Nate as the electrified producer, Sonny as the rocker, and Greg as the mediator, Stella by Starlight formed in August of 2006 in Durham, NC. Originally a four-piece rock band, the group has morphed into a synth-rock-pop trio, merging diverse musical influences from The Killers to LCD Soundsytem, from Trentemoller to Justin Timberlake. In November of 2007, Stella's second self-produced EP landed them in New York City as a 2007 MTVu Woodie Award winner. Since then Stella has opened for OK Go, Futureman, Common, and Jason Mraz.
