R&B/HipHop artist, keyboardist, & songwriter MichaelAnthonyJohnson was born & raised in Kansas. He spent his young years playing his mother’s organ. He had a rich upbringing in black gospel music with his family's gospel ensemble that frequented churches on occasion across Kansas City. After singing his 1st lead part at 4 years old, he got a glimpse of how God would use him. At age 22, he moved to Dallas Texas where he attended Bible college. He joined the college's traveling worship team, which took him all over the world, (Seoul Korea, Japan, China, Hong Kong, Canada, Mexico and all over the U.S.). He experienced ministering & worshiping with people from diverse cultures & countries, & shared the gospel of Jesus Christ with many. In 2002, he began working on his 1st CD project. He took some time to be mentored by a plethora of artists & pastors that helped his walk with God & encouraged him to write about his life experiences. Today, his new release, “Don't Rush, Just Wait” is a new Hip Hop flavored collection, seasoned with hints of his black gospel upbringings. The songs, “Lead Me To The Rock” & “With Me” has stretched his audience reach beyond black gospel. He’s enjoying a diverse audience that spans younger & older fans. Working with several producers, Michael was able to infuse different genres within this project for a unique message for a unique time.
Through his experiences in church, & life lessons, Michael believes his mission is to take this new "sound" in his new project around the world. If you ask him what that "sound" is, he says its the place in a song where you pause because an overwhelming sense of God's presence begins to resonate through a chord, a note or a vocal. It's an undeniable sound that's not only heard with the ear, but experienced in your spirit, and something within your life is changed forever. I want to create that sound forever!
