"Two roads diverged in a wood, and I ...... I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.".......Robert Frost
Formed in the winter of 2007, Rebelicious initially had very few goals outside of exploiting the local and regional bar scene around Northern Virginia, partying with friends, and maximizing the inherent talent of its members to play 'cool shows' opening for the national and regional acts that traveled through the area including but not limited to Craig Morgan, Rascal Flatts, Brad Paisley, Taylor Swift, Trailer Choir, Heartland, and Crossin Dixon. Writing and recording came in time, but more as the logical next step, not as a definitive commitment by the band to maximize its potential as a country music act. Questions were raised as to whether Rebelicious was a rock act or a country act based on their rocked up interpretation of country songs, the ease in which the band transitioned between a rock and a country format during its live shows, and the rock edge that clearly defined its early original work. Early success was measured by the number of shows played, the quality of the performances, and the popularity the band had achieved as a local and regional circuit band.
This all began to change at the end of 2008 when two defining moments in the bands history occurred ....they began a relationship with Pete Evick (Evick, The Bret Michaels Band) to finish recording and producing Rebelicious blue collar anthem "American Hero", and they underwent personnel changes caused by the departure of original guitarist Randy Lema and the retirement of singer Mike Ellis. The band was at the proverbial crossroads, reload with new players and continue down the same path, or acknowledge previous successes not as the pinnacle of the bands potential, but as the building block to achieve greater success. This caused remaining original members Sean Branam and Jim Bledsoe to reassess the business and the artistic direction of the band, which led to the introduction of a young singer/songwriter named Trey Schneider, the Nashville style chops of James German, and the melodic rock riffs and tenor/alto vocals of Lyle Muncy into the mix.
Armed with a 'new' sound, Rebelicious went into the studio with Pete Evick in the summer of 2009 to begin recording and producing an EP of 'modern' country originals composed and sung by Trey Schneider including 'Chasin Mason', 'Friday Nights' and 'I'm The One'.
The year 2010 has marked several milestones for the band including the release of our latest EP Rebelicious, performing at the WildHorse Saloon in Nashville with the Bret Michaels Band, and effectively focusing on the business and the product of Rebelicious while surpassing the 300 show mark (since the bands inception) through well received club and festival performances throughout the Mid Atlantic and South East regions. Rebelicious is now preparing for a return to the studio in the fall with a handful of new songs, and a commitment to continued growth as a modern country act.....the road previously less traveled.....
